Cinematic spaces, individually composed.
Two Dancing Owls is a design studio for private cinema — end-to-end, from first concept to final calibration.
Two disciplines,
one studio.
Most private cinema projects sit at an awkward seam — between the architect’s drawings and the integrator’s racks. We close that seam.
Our founding team is fluent in both design and engineering, and we deliver everything in between: concept, architecture, acoustics, build, AV integration, installation, and calibration.
One studio, one vision, one point of accountability — from the first sketch to the final frame.

Four rooms, one standard.
Every one of them designed, engineered, built and calibrated by the same studio.
Home Theatre
Dedicated cinema rooms, designed and built end-to-end. Architecture, acoustics, AV integration, installation, interior — composed and delivered as one.
Semi-Private Theatre
Flexible viewing spaces that live within the wider home. Designed, integrated, and installed to disappear when not in use.
Media Room
A shared screening room for offices, co-working spaces and apartment buildings — film nights, presentations and events with the feel of a real cinema.
Consultancy & Advisory
Standalone expertise for architects, interior designers, cinemas, and hospitality teams. Strategic input, technical review, or full project oversight — without the build.

A studio process.
Not an install.
Every project begins with a discovery phase — a conversation, a site visit, and an early design response.
It establishes intent on both sides and gives you something tangible before any commitment.
Three positions we do not trade.
One roof
Interior architecture, acoustics, AV integration and the trades that build them almost never sit together. We sit under one roof — we design the room, engineer it, build it, integrate it and calibrate it.
Built in the Netherlands, designed to travel
We launched in the Netherlands and build internationally from there. Our brand, our materials and our process were designed from day one to travel — because the clients and partners we serve already do.
A composition, not a product
A great cinema room is a composition — of proportion, light, acoustics, fabric, screen, sound, and the way someone settles into a chair on a Tuesday evening. It is impossible to outsource any one of those things without losing something. So we don’t.
Notes on rooms,
sound and light.
What we have learned building them, and what we would want to know before commissioning one.

Calibration is where a cinema stops being equipment

Why a dedicated room still beats a very good television

What Dolby Atmos actually requires from a room
We take on a small number of projects each year.
If yours might be one of them, we’d be glad to hear from you.
